About the Job:
Kent is seeking a Labourer to support a project-based opportunity at the Golden Pass LNG facility in Port Arthur, TX. This brownfield role involves assisting Instrument Fitters and Electricians with the physical setup and preparation of instrument supports, control panels, tubing systems, and related infrastructure. Candidates should have experience working in heavy industrial or oil and gas environments and be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks outdoors and in construction zones.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and organizing instrumentation materials and equipment.
- Support the setup and installation of instrument stands, supports, brackets, and enclosures.
- Provide general assistance to instrument fitters, including holding, securing, or transporting tools and components.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas across assigned zones.
- Use basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers) and power tools (e.g., drills, grinders) as directed.
- Perform material prep work such as cutting conduit, cleaning tubing, and labeling components.
- Follow direction from journeymen, foremen, and site supervisors with attention to quality and efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining daily records, redline drawings, and material usage logs when instructed.
- Participate in job site safety meetings and comply with all site-specific and company safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the reasonable scope of general labor responsibilities.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification
- Minimum 3 years of general labor experience in industrial, construction, or oil and gas environments.
- Familiarity with basic construction site practices and hand/power tool usage.
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in variable conditions.
- Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
- Basic understanding of safety standards, including PPE, fall protection, and hazard identification.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting instrumentation or mechanical craft teams.
- Forklift or rigging experience (if applicable).
- Brownfield or LNG/refinery experience.
Communication:
- Must speak and understand English fluently.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
