Kent’s involvement in the Kashagan field began in 2006 when we delivered the full installation of the electrical, instrumentation and telecommunication works on the onshore Utilities Plant including the main power and emergency electrical generation facilities and the steam turbine building on behalf of Bateman Kazakhstan.
In November 2007, we signed a contract with Aker for the provision of electrical and instrumentation services associated with the hook up and commissioning of Island D on the offshore works. These works were completed in 2012 with a peak team on site of 1,300.
In January 2010, we embarked on a support services contract with BJ Services for the provision of the mechanical testing scope of works for the process, accommodation and power generation areas. In April of that year, we were awarded a new contract on the project providing offshore module modification works for ERSAI.
In 2011, we were awarded a calibration services contract with CCEP on Kashagan A Island and then later that year we were awarded a cable pulling contract with the same client on D Island. Also in 2011, we supported Bolashak by providing electrical and HVAC commissioning services on R Island.
Kent’s work on Kashagan continued throughout 2012 and 2013 with contracts directly with Agip KCO; the first being a commissioning contract for heat tracing panels, the second being a cable pulling contract on D Island and the third being a commissioning contract for offshore activities on Trains 1 and 2 at R Island. We also embarked on a specialist contract with Dietsmann where we delivered specialist COMPEX electrotechnical inspections in hazardous areas at Karabaton.
