Kent is looking for a Piping Designer in Sarnia Ontario
This role is to prepare and modify designs for piping projects. Chosen candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other designers to ensure piping layouts are efficient, safe, and compliant with industry standards.
Skills and Responsibilities: | |
Responsibilities: • Develop and modify 2D and 3D piping designs using CAD software. • Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and equipment layouts to create accurate designs. • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other designers to ensure designs meet project requirements. • Conduct field visits to assess existing conditions and support project requirements. • Ensure designs comply with industry codes, safety standards, and client specifications. • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback as required. • Ability to coordinate with work share partners to maintain continuity, document progress, and ensure smooth workflow transitions. • Prepare material take-offs (MTOs), isometric drawings, and detailed fabrication drawings. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: • Mechanical Engineering Technology, Process Piping Design or a related field and/or experience. • 5+ years of experience in piping design within industrial, oil & gas, chemical, or similar sectors. | |
Communication:

Behavior/ Core Competencies: • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks or other piping design software. • Strong understanding of ASME, ANSI, and other relevant piping codes and standards. • Ability to work collaboratively in a job share environment and maintain clear communication. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Experience with field verification and as-built documentation is an asset.
