About the job:

Kent is seeking a highly capable and adaptable Human Resources Generalist to join our Houston, Texas team. This office-based role will primarily support our corporate and professional business lines. The successful candidate will support HR operations, ensuring smooth and efficient HR processes for our office-based workforce.

The ideal candidate will be an HR professional with a strong ability to manage a variety of HR tasks efficiently, handling routine and high-volume HR activities such as onboarding, employee lifecycle transactions, compliance, and employee relations:

  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments, especially those involving heavy onboarding activity, workforce ramp-ups, frequent employee movement, and transactional HR execution.
  • Support a professional workforce based in the home office, providing responsive HR guidance and assistance tailored to corporate functions and business support teams.

We're looking for someone who can help ensure smooth, reliable HR operations by staying organized, adapting to shifting priorities, supporting a variety of teams, and upholding HR policies and procedures.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Multi-Line Business Support:
    Provide day-to-day HR support across multiple business lines. Respond to routine HR inquiries, assist with employee needs, and support HR initiatives across a wide range of workforce segments.
  • Ramp-Ups, Onboarding & Workforce Mobilization:
    Support onboarding efforts for new hires across business lines, coordinating pre-employment steps, orientation and onboarding, system access, and deployment logistics for high-volume workforce ramp-ups.
  • Home Office Employee Support: Provide HR support to professional staff based in the home office, assisting with onboarding, job changes, policy guidance, and general HR inquiries. Partner with department managers and team leads to ensure consistent application of HR policies and support across business functions.
  • HR Transactions & Data Management:
    Execute employee lifecycle transactions (hires, terminations, transfers, compensation changes, etc.), ensuring data accuracy within Oracle HCM and timely communication with key stakeholders.
  • Employee Relations:
    Support the HR team in addressing employee concerns by documenting issues and assisting with basic fact-finding. Escalate complex matters to senior HR staff as appropriate.
  • Compliance & Process Consistency:
    Help ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Follow established procedures and contribute to consistency in HR workflows and documentation.
  • HR Communications & Training:
    Prepare standard HR communications, including status changes, rate adjustments, and job changes. Support the delivery of HR-related training by coordinating sessions and materials.
  • Leave Administration:
    Assist employees with basic questions about leave programs (FMLA, STD/LTD, ADA). Coordinate with internal partners to support the leave process.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist capacity.
  • Exposure to high-volume onboarding and employee lifecycle support.
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws, HR compliance, and HRIS systems (Oracle HCM experience a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service mindset.

Communication:

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
