About the job:
Kent is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to be based in Houston, TX.

As the HR Business Partner for our CCS group, you will be at the forefront of implementing and administering a wide range of HR activities and programs that drive employee engagement, foster talent development, and align with our business objectives. This role demands a unique combination of strategic thinking and operational prowess, requiring you to effortlessly transition between high-level planning and day-to-day tactical execution.

The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking HR professional who can:
  • Develop and implement innovative HR strategies that support the CCS group's specific needs and contribute to overall business success
  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, practices, and programs to leaders and employees within the CCS group
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through talent management, performance optimization, and change management initiatives
  • Skilfully handle complex employee relations issues while maintaining a positive and productive work environment

Responsibilities:
  • Champion HR Policy Expertise: Serve as the go-to individual on HR policies, providing guidance and nuanced interpretations to our Completions, Commissioning & Start-up group. Empower managers and employees with clear, actionable insights that foster a compliant and productive work environment.
  • Drive Continuous HR Innovation: Collaborate dynamically with cross-functional teams to improve HR processes, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Be a catalyst for positive change, constantly seeking ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in HR operations.
  • Cultivate Strong Leadership Relationships: Build and nurture credible partnerships with front-line and mid-level leaders through unwavering trust, seamless collaboration, and effective communication. Position yourself as an indispensable strategic partner in driving organizational success.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay vigilant in maintaining compliance with labor regulations and company policies. Proactively identify potential risks and implement measures to safeguard the organization's interests.
  • Master HR Issue Resolution: Take the lead in investigating complex HR issues from initial reporting to final resolution. Utilize your analytical skills and HR acumen to navigate sensitive situations, ensuring fair and thorough outcomes that align with company values and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to HR Policy Evolution: Play a pivotal role in the improvement, development, and implementation of cutting-edge HR policies and procedures. Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices to ensure your organization remains an employer of choice.
  • Craft Exceptional Employee Journeys: Reimagine and optimize the employee’s onboarding and offboarding experiences. Create memorable, seamless transitions that set the stage for long-term engagement and positive employee relationships.
  • Deliver Impactful HR Training: Design and facilitate dynamic HR training sessions and presentations. Engage your audience with interactive, informative content that drives understanding and adoption of HR best practices.
  • Champion HR Initiatives: Become a passionate advocate for HR programs and initiatives. Utilize your communication skills to generate excitement and buy-in across all levels of the organization.
  • Navigate Complex Leave Processes: Provide expert support to employees navigating various leave processes, including FMLA, STD, and ADA accommodations. Ensure compliance while demonstrating empathy and understanding during sensitive situations.
  • Design Compelling HR Communications: Develop a wide range of HR documentation, communications, and reports that effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences. Ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance in all HR-related materials.
  • Master HRIS Operations: Skilfully process a wide range of employee transactions in Oracle HCM, including promotions, new hires, terminations, job changes, and salary adjustments. Ensure data accuracy and timeliness to support critical HR and business decisions.


In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a HR Business Partner in construction or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulatory HR guidelines.
Communication:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required.
Behavior/ Core Competencies:
  • Ability to oversee multiple tasks at once with minimal direction.
