Role scope

Ensuring the ongoing safety, reliability, and availability of our fleet is critical to our success. With that in mind, we are seeking a skilled Light and/or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our Transport and Fleet team. Reporting to the QGC Fleet Lead, your day-to-day tasks may include troubleshooting and providing technical input in support of our fleet, performing simple onsite maintenance and parts replacement, and coordinating more significant repairs through our suite of available contracted local service agents..


Details / responsibilities

 Build relationships with local service agents and our field-based teams who rely on these fleet assets to complete their daily tasks.
 Monitor and oversee QGC’s Fleet Management System daily to minimize downtime of fleet assets.
 Perform general maintenance tasks and minor repairs to our fleet assets and ancillary equipment in field environments to ensure fleet reliability.
 Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete on-site minor repairs and parts replacement, where practicable.
 Coordinate the maintenance and repairs of light and heavy vehicles via our network of contracted local service agents/workshops.
 Closely oversee repairs and modifications of service trucks (Isuzu) to maximize fleet availability.
 Accurately input service and repair records into QGC’s fleet registers.
 Coordinate In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) and Active Fatigue and Distraction Detection (AFDD) repairs, maintenance, and emergency panic button testing.
 Arrange Certificates of Inspection for heavy vehicles and vehicle-mounted cranes.
 Conduct ongoing assurance regarding the accuracy and compliance of vehicle inspections, repairs, maintenance, and invoicing.


Qualifications

 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical or a Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.

 Auto electrical and air-conditioning experience is an advantage.

Licenses
 Current and valid Medium Rigid (MR) Class driver’s license (required).
 Crane tickets (preferred, but not essential).

Experience
 Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostics skills.
 Oil and Gas Industry experience (preferred, but not essential).
