About the job:
Kent is looking for an Electrical Technician to be based in Guyana.
You will provide technical assistance in calibration tasks, equipment handling, logistics coordination and maintaining documentation ensuring compliance.
Skills and Responsibilities: |
Responsibilities: - Assist the Technical Specialists with routine calibration tasks and compliance-based workflows.
- Record calibration results and ensure traceability to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements.
- Collect equipment from offshore FPSOs, coordinating with SBM Offshore for logistics and POB/helicopter schedules.
- Organize the physical collection of equipment from onshore warehouses and prepare for laboratory calibration or vendor shipment.
- Receive, unpack, clean, and label test equipment before and after calibration or inspection.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment collection, calibration, and repairs.
- Participate in preparing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and risk assessments for all assigned tasks.
- Support logistical workflows by liaising with the Equipment Coordinator and drivers.
- Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Advise management on continued use of unsuitable equipment.
- Order electrical supplies and equipment.
- Connect wiring in electrical circuits ensuring compatibility of components.
- Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development. |
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - 2 year electrical, technical, or related certification/degree required.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as an electrical technician or graduated as electrical engineer.
- Experience as an electrician/electrical technician/engineer graduate/internship.
- Able to read electrical system design plans and recommend improvements.
- Completion of an electrical training.
- Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
- Valid license to practice profession.
