East Anglia Wind Farm Hub
Scottish Power Renewables (SPR) is developing the East Anglia One-North and East Anglia Two (EA1N and EA2) wind farms. The installed power will be 789MW and 896MW respectively, with a unit power of 14MW.
Kent has supported SPR with the concept design of the OSS topsides and jacket foundations, undertaking an evaluation stage before delivering a concept design for both EA1N and EA2 wind farms.
The design took advantage of the similarities between both fields to deliver designs with identical layouts and to maximise design similarities between both jacket and topsides, therefore taking advantage of economies of scale. However, the foundation design was specific to each project location.
Key project responsibilities included:
- Structural jacket and topside design and analysis.
- Layout alternatives evaluation phase considering SPR’s concept employer requirements.
- Safety design and fire and evacuation routing.
- Conceptual design and design basis for the OSS.
