About the job:

Kent is looking for a Driver to be based in Port Arthur, TX to join our team at the project field site. The Driver will be responsible for transporting personnel, materials, and equipment to and from the field site, ensuring safety and compliance with traffic regulations. Additionally, the Driver will assist with traffic control, support the tool room operations, and provide maintenance support as needed.

Skills and Responsibilities:

· Safely transport personnel, materials, and equipment to and from the project field site.

· Operate company vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other designated vehicles.

· Ensure all transported items are secured and protected during transit.

· Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company driving policies.

· Set up and manage traffic control measures as directed by the project manager or field supervisor.

· Place and maintain traffic control signs, cones, and barriers to ensure the safety of the work zone.

· Direct traffic around the work area to maintain a safe environment for workers and the public.

· Assist in managing the tool room, including organizing, issuing, and receiving tools and equipment.

· Maintain accurate records of tool inventory and usage.

· Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.

· Provide general maintenance support as needed, including basic repairs and upkeep of equipment and vehicles.

· Assist the maintenance team with scheduled maintenance tasks and emergency repairs.

· Report any issues or required repairs to the maintenance supervisor promptly.

· Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

· Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

· Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report any safety concerns or needed repairs.

· Maintain accurate logs of driving activities, mileage, and fuel usage.

· Complete and submit all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.

· Assist with other administrative tasks as directed by the field supervisor or project manager.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in driving and transportation roles preferred.
  • Experience in traffic control and/or construction site environments is a plus.
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.
  • Ability to operate various types of vehicles safely.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to perform physical labor and operate tools and equipment as needed.
  • Work is performed primarily at the project field site with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and overtime as required.

Communication:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
