About the job:


Kent is looking for an experienced Document Controller to be based in Port Arthur, TX supporting a large-scale long term Commissioning and Construction project in the Oil & Energy (LNG) space.



Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Jointly with engineering and quality, negotiate early in the project the Master Document Register as well as the required format & content for key types of documentation (Data Sheets, ASME calculations, Fabrication drawings, Weld maps, Manufacturing Record Books, ITPs, Material Certificates, Traceability requirements, Operation and maintenance manuals etc.)
  • Act as an interface between internal engineering, quality, manufacturing and document control teams, external suppliers, licensors, and the client.
  • Coordinate the storage, review, approval and distribution of documents for a project.
  • Ensure effective management of the master document register, including engineering drawings, manufacturing data books, materials certificates, reports, etc. throughout the project.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of client and project document control requirements.
  • Develop, collate and distribute a suite of document management status reports for the client and project team.
  • Drive on time document delivery throughout the project.
  • Develop written procedures for each engineering discipline to follow.
  • Leverage discipline leads to maintain required standards and consistency.
  • Help maintain the Electronic Document Management System, Aconex.
  • Assist in effective execution of the business document control team where required.
  • Ensure global standards for document management are adhered to.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with the Document Control Manager and project teams to implement improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
  • High school diploma plus five years of directly related experience in a similar setting where technical experience and competence has been clearly demonstrated.
  • Experience with engineering and/or construction of plant equipment desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction activities.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Experienced in developing logical sequencing of work.
  • MS Office (Excel and Word) and product competency required.
  • Aconex experience is required.


Communication:
  • Full fluency in English is required.
Behavior/ Core Competencies:
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
