About the job:
Kent is looking for a Document Controller to support our client’s projects in the Channelview, TX area.

You will lead the delivery of documents on time between the relevant functions and will be responsible for development, maintenance, distribution and security of the project drawings and technical data. This includes all hard copy and electronic documentation residing in the project and shared directories for IFC Packages and Project Deliverables. The Project Document Controller must be self-motivated at initiating contacts within and outside the company to gather and/or develop information necessary to perform the job function.

The successful candidate should be able to interface and communicate effectively with all types of plant and project management. Strong result oriented, impact and influence skills are essential.
Basic Job Requirements
  • Issue IFD, IFA, and IFC packages.
  • Maintain transmittal distribution lists.
  • Receive and compile comments on IFA reviews.
  • Distribute comments to internal and external engineering and design resources.
  • Maintain tracking system for approvals of IFD, IFA, and IFC packages.
  • Receive and upload equipment documentation.
  • Transmit final project documents for archival.
  • Issue weekly overdue report for IFAs and IFMOCs.
  • Maintain maintenance support request database.
  • Create loop folders for checkout of instrumentation and equipment.
  • Facilitate closure process for capital projects.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
  • High school diploma plus five years of directly related experience in a similar setting where technical experience and competence has been clearly demonstrated.
  • Experience with engineering and/or construction of plant equipment desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Experienced in developing logical sequencing of work.
  • MS Office (Excel and Word) and product competency required.
  • Experience using an industry proven document storage, tracking, and transmitting software required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
