About the job:


Kent is seeking a Site based Technical Services Construction Field Engineer for a Construction Project supporting multiple locations in Nebraska to provide discipline specific technical services oversight in their respective discipline.


Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Field Engineer (Technical Services) collaborates across the project team as directed to support the execution of construction and commissioning deliverables while adhering to project and contractual requirements. Also collaborates with Commissioning & Construction Superintendents/Leads to monitor and/or advise on the execution of Systems Completion activities. The Field Engineer has a thorough in depth knowledge of project execution and is able to provide input as requested by the Construction & CSU groups in their work.



















































Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:



  • This position requires complete comprehension of the overall life cycle of a project and each phase from Engineering, Construction, Commissioning & Turnover.

  • Responsibilities include reading, analyzing, and interpreting engineering documents & drawings, technical procedures, specifications, project specific requirements and project correspondence. Has the ability to write reports and understand the process workflows, packages, and procedures for the project.

  • Coordinate with project personnel on construction/ & commissioning scope execution as requested.

  • Coordinate assigned work with client, construction disciplines, commissioning disciplines and other contractors & vendors as requested.

  • Initiates the approved project RFI process and the utilization of RFI system as required.

  • Evaluates RFI submittals to reject, respond, or forward the inquiry.

  • Propose solutions to the RFI submittals with proper approvals.

  • Ensure supporting documents are adequate (e.g., pictures, drawings, redlines, etc.).

  • Assists coordination of construction and CSU scope of work and reviews information that will be used to classify and assess potential impacts to the project as requested.

  • Assist in development and execution of Field Installation Work Packages, Test Packages and Turnover/Handover Packages as requested.

  • Assist populating System Completions documentation to support compliant Construction and CSU from project system definitions.

  • Ensure that systems are ready for client walk and assists/participates in walkdowns.

  • Document and track exceptions/punch list resulting from system walks and drive them to completion.

  • Participate in system turnover meetings with the discipline stakeholders and clients.

  • Perform additional assignments per project manager’s direction.



In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:



  • Pipeline compressor station/CO2 capture experience preferred 5+ years.

  • Established track record in leading project through Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, Start Up or initial plant operations in the specific discipline.

  • Advanced understanding of construction drawings and specifications.

  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Word software.

  • Able to read and understand system process definitions and P&IDs etc.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, construction disciplines, and other contractors.

  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, project procedures and construction specifications.

  • Ability to communicate directions effectively and respond to questions from clients, managers, and all levels of construction & commissioning personnel.

  • Ability to understand and discuss technical issues pertaining to their individual discipline and can relay information concisely and effectively.

  • Approaches challenging tasks with a "can do" attitude and is comfortable managing change.

  • Remains calm under pressure and can effectively handle several problems or tasks at once.

  • Displays a willingness to speak up to the right person or group at the right time, when he/she disagrees with a course of action that might impact safety, ethics, company reputation, etc.

  • Understanding of system process definitions.

  • Able to verify field progress reports and quantity surveillance for accuracy before approval and distribution.

  • Ability to evaluate project discrepancies & questions and reports information utilizing the RFI system.

  • Ability to plan and exercise control over the amount of time spent on specific discipline work activities.

  • Develops or uses systems to organize and keep track of information (e.g., “to do” lists, appointment calendars, follow up file systems).

  • Keeps clear, detailed records of activities related to accomplishing stated objectives.

  • Understands the process of mechanical completion, static commissioning, dynamic commissioning & system turnover workflow.

  • Familiar with construction related project permitting.

  • In depth knowledge of Project Completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.

  • Strong understanding of Project Execution, Construction, Commissioning & Completion practices.

  • Strong understanding of work planning, scheduling and tracking.

  • Demonstrated work ethic with delivery focus and strong organizational ability.

  • Must believe and support a strong safety culture and behavior.

  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.


Communication:



  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
