About the job:


Kent is looking for a Commissioning Lead to work on an exciting Perth-based project in the resources industry. This role is seconded Monday - Friday position on a project that is expected to be around 2 years in duration. This position will lead the Electrical discipline in commissioning.


The Commissioning Lead is responsible to ensure that all commissioning activities of the project are completed on time and in compliance with the project requirements, procedures and plan.


Your responsibilities:

  • Communicate all Company safety protocols and policies to team and monitor.
  • Encourage a positive safety culture within team.
  • Encourage reporting of all safety issues and ensure all concerns are addressed and reported for lessons learned.
  • Maintain standards of HSSE and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment policy.
  • Maintain positive relationship with the client.
  • Lead the early commissioning planning phase of the project
  • Assist in selecting team members – review resumes, support interviews etc
  • Review Project Checksheet Matrix development and population.
  • Complete Project Checksheet Reviews.
  • Support Checksheet Completion.
  • Ensure implementation of the Commissioning Management Plan phases and Project checkpoints, including but not limited to Notice of Energization (NOE), Pressure Testing, Functional Testing, Punch Listing and Commissioning Completion.
  • Provide support throughout the construction and pre-commissioning phases of the project.
  • Develop and review Commissioning Test Procedures.
  • Develop Commissioning Management Plans.
  • Develop/Review and Manage Dynamic Commissioning Procedures.
  • Develop and Execute Project Commissioning Schedule.
  • Identify resource requirements for the Commissioning scope.
  • Hold site meetings and report progress and identify issues
  • Coordinate of Vendor representatives.
  • Compile Project Commissioning spare parts, consumables, equipment, and special tools lists.
  • Issue final reports and certificates.


Qualification/ Certification:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related trade with experience in management. Must have extensive experience in lieu of degree.


Skills Requirement:

  • 5-10 years’ experience in Engineering, Project Manager or Coordinator in a Construction/Commissioning Sector.
  • 10-15 years’ experience in oil & gas industry.
  • Computer Skills - MS Office, E-mail, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interface effectively with client, people inside and outside of the company.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
