About the job:
Kent is looking for a site-based electrical field engineer to support its team on a multi year project based in multiple project locations (starting in Houston, TX and Ingleside, TX). The electrical engineer will assist the senior specialist in the development of scopes of work procedures and planning. They will also assist in the day to day operations at the various sites of the project. To ensure the successful execution and completion of Kent projects by overseeing the commissioning activities involved in the coordination, testing, and validation of various systems to ensure they meet design specifications and operational requirements.
Skills and Responsibilities: |
Responsibilities: - Collaborate closely with project teams, vendors and clients to guarantee the safe and efficient startup of facilities within the oil and gas sector.
- Develop comprehensive commissioning plans based on project specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to integrate commissioning activities into the overall project schedule.
- Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests on a range of systems, including electrical, instrumentation, control, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure all systems comply with industry standards, regulations and client specifications.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during the commissioning process.
- Work closely with engineering and construction teams to address any discrepancies or deficiencies in system performance.
- Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, test results, and any modifications made during the process.
- Generate comprehensive commissioning reports for project management and clients.
- Adhere to and enforce all HSE policies and procedures during commissioning activities.
- Conduct safety assessments and ensure that all commissioning activities are carried out in a safe manner.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and expectations for commissioning.
- Provide regular updates on commissioning progress and address client concerns or queries.
- Provide training to operations personnel on newly commissioned systems.
- Ensure a smooth handover of facilities from the commissioning phase to regular operations.
- Observe the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality rules of the Company, it’s clients and the governing authorities of the host country.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development. |
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, or related field).
- At least 2 years of experience in commissioning roles within the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with commissioning software and tools.
