About the job:
Kent is looking for a Business Development Manager, with a minimum of 10 years experience in BD, a proven track record of delivering Sales in Engineering & projects within Europe.

You will be responsible for developing sales strategies and plans to align with corporate and business unit objectives within the Europe, to help drive our Sales in mainland Europe. You will be responsible for improving the company’s market position, customer satisfaction, and achieving financial goals.

Your responsibilities:
  • Provide vision and leadership to grow Kent backlog and footprint in Europe region.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities and potential areas for growth within the Energy sector.
  • Working with internal functions, increase the brand recognition of Kent within region.
  • Identify and target potential new Energy clients in region that align with Kent strategy and objectives.
  • Develop sales strategy and plan to penetrate and grow existing Kent accounts within Europe region, whilst maintaining Kent financial KPIs.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in the industry, including within new and existing clients.
  • Accountable for achieving sales targets in Europe region via increased market share across all of Kent service offerings.
  • Provide leadership internally on proposal development, conducting presentations, negotiating pricing, and presenting the contract to secure awards – collaborating with technical and operational teams.
  • Track execution of order and ensure the customer is extremely satisfied by experience.
  • Stay informed on key clients, market sectors, competition and understand the value Kent brings and how to promote and sell.
  • Promote a customer-oriented focus and advocate consultative customer relationships.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and alliances that can enhance Kent position in the market.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences and networking functions.
  • Key focus areas include Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualification/ Certification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering
Core Competencies:
  • Proven experience in business development of engineering and project services in the Energy sector, within mainland Europe. Or, related industry experience in a technical position.
  • An established and proven track record of delivering sales and of networking among Energy industry clients.
  • Strong understanding of the Energy market, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Demonstrable skills in managing existing clients and establishing new clients.
  • A strong network of contacts and relationships across Energy sector clients in region.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams, and as part of a sales team.
  • Results-orientated and persistent, with a track record of achieving and exceeding business development targets.
  • A proven self-starter, bringing consistently high motivation and able to work remotely in an effective manner.
  • Ability to travel and work outside normal working hours
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
