About the job:
We are seeking an AP Accountant Assistant to join our Finance team. This is a fixed-term assignment for eight months, with the potential for a permanent position.
The successful applicant will be responsible for day-to-day processing of vendor invoices, inquiries and payments along with working closely with our internal procurement and project operations teams.

Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Matching vendor invoices against POs and goods receipt documentation
  • Indexing and routing non-PO invoices for approval
  • Verifying, approval and coding of non-PO vendor invoices
  • Recording invoices in the accounting system
  • Setting up payments in the bank platform
  • Recording payments in the accounting system
  • Responding to invoice status inquiries from vendors and from internal clients
  • Downloading AP data and preparing AP reports
  • Liaise with project and procurement team as needed
  • Ad hoc duties as required

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field preferred
  • Experience:
    • Strong customer service mentality
    • Detail-oriented mindset
    • Deadline-driven approach
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • 3 or more years’ experience in accounts payable processing
    • Excel skills preferred
    • Knowledge in US Tax application is an asset
    • Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus
  • Skills:
    • Good communicator – written and verbal, in-person and remote via Teams/Zoom/phone
    • Ability to resolve issues with company and vendor personnel efficiently and amicably
    • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Ability to communicate effectively across location, region and corporate to accomplish objectives
