The Opportunity:
As an Accountant at Kent, you’ll play a crucial role in managing financial operations, including preparing financial statements, managing cash flow budgets and maintaining the general ledger. You’ll handle inter-company transactions, assist with month-end reporting and process accruals, prepayments, and payroll journals. Additionally, you’ll support external audits, prepare BAS and FBT lodgments and help maintain financial systems and procedures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, global leader in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage the cash flow budget, including monitoring, forecasting and reporting to support business decision-making.
- Maintain the general ledger, including regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Oversee inter-company transactions and reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate recording across entities.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including the preparation and processing of reports and financial entries.
- Process accruals, prepayments, and associated journal entries, ensuring alignment with reporting periods.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare and enter weekly payroll journals, collaborating with the payroll team to ensure accuracy.
- Support the preparation and review of BAS and FBT returns for timely and accurate lodgment.
- Assist external auditors during statutory and group audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
About You:
You hold a degree in Accounting and are ideally progressing through CA/CPA qualifications. With some experience in an accounting role, you are proficient in Excel and possess strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. You excel at meeting month-end deadlines and are highly organised, able to prioritise tasks and manage your time effectively. You have a process-driven, structured approach to work, ensuring efficiency in all you do. You are capable of working independently and can communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders to meet targets and expectations.
