Offshore Engineering Society Talk 2026

Offshore Engineering Society SM Card
2 September
London, United Kingdom

Kent will be presenting at an upcoming Offshore Engineering Society talk exploring one of the key considerations in offshore wind structural design: fatigue assessment.

Kent's Chief Structural Engineer, Amir Chahardehi, will present "Offshore Wind Support Structures: Regaining Confidence in Fatigue Assessment," examining the development of current fatigue codes and guidance used across offshore wind. The session will explore the assumptions and approximations underpinning these approaches, including considerations such as corrosion and material thickness, and what these can mean for the accuracy of fatigue assessments.

With fatigue playing a significant role both in the design of offshore wind structures and in understanding their performance during operation, the presentation will highlight how a stronger understanding of existing assessment methods can help the industry make informed decisions and maximise value from offshore structures throughout their lifecycle.
