In a recent Energy Connects article, Lakshmi Venkatesh, who leads Kent’s Global Engineering Centre (GEC) in India, explores how global execution models are transforming the way complex brownfield projects are delivered across the energy industry.

Lakshmi shares how remote execution, once seen as too risky or site-specific for brownfield work, is now a strategic advantage when supported by the right tools, processes and culture. The centre’s digital innovation is helping teams bridge physical distance while enhancing accuracy, safety and responsiveness.

Lakshmi goes on to highlight how the GEC overcomes challenges like incomplete documentation, unpredictable site conditions and multi-time-zone collaboration by implementing robust workflows, cultural awareness training, and integrated project management approaches. Procurement and vendor management, often overlooked, also benefit from global coordination and established supply chains.
