Luigi Crolla, Head of Energy Transition Technologies, will co-present 'E-Methanol Unveiled: Exploring Cutting-Edge Production Technologies Supporting Market Development' at ADIPEC 2025. As industries seek to decarbonise and reduce reliance on fossil-based methanol, Luigi will explore how e-methanol production using electrolytic “green” hydrogen and carbon dioxide from direct air capture is shaping a more sustainable future. Drawing on design experience from a recent 60MW UK-based project, the session will cover technological breakthroughs in reactor and catalyst design, heat integration, and decentralised deployment. Luigi will examine how small-scale, modular e-methanol plants can enhance flexibility, reduce emissions and operating costs, and support a more resilient industrial sector through integration with renewable energy sources and local CO2 capture.
