Kent is supporting the decommissioning of the Laminaria-Corallina oil fields in the Timor Sea. Building on its ongoing work with the Northern Endeavour FPSO, this contract reinforces Kent’s position as a trusted partner in delivering complex offshore decommissioning programmes with a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
Under this engagement, Kent is providing strategic and operational advisory services for the permanent plugging and abandonment (P&A) of wells, alongside the safe removal of associated subsea infrastructure. A multidisciplinary team of technical and regulatory specialists will support both the planning and execution phases, ensuring alignment with stringent environmental and government standards.
This award follows Kent’s earlier appointment in 2024 to advise on the environmentally responsible recycling of the Northern Endeavour FPSO. Kent has since played a key role in developing recycling strategies, defining technical scopes, evaluating international tenders, and conducting assurance activities. That work will continue through to the FPSO’s final recycling destination in 2026.
The Northern Endeavour project is a critical component of the Australian Government’s broader strategy to manage offshore assets responsibly and safeguard the marine environment through best-practice decommissioning.
