Role scope
To oversee and coordinate all quality assurance activities within the organisation to ensure that products, processes, and services meet the highest industry standards and comply with regulatory requirements. To supervise a team of quality assurance professionals, conduct audits, manage non-conformance issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. To work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance the overall quality system.
Skills & responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the quality assurance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to quality standards
- Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, API Q1) and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all quality processes are documented and consistently followed
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal and external quality audits to assess compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines
- Document audit findings, develop corrective actions, and ensure timely implementation
- Identify, document, and manage non-conformance issues, lead root cause analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions, ensuring issues are resolved and prevented from recurring
- Oversee the qualification, evaluation, and monitoring of suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and services
- Conduct supplier audits and work closely with procurement to address and resolve supplier-related quality issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analysing quality data, identifying trends, and recommending process improvements
- Utilise methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis to enhance operational efficiency and reduce defects
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality inquiries and issues, ensuring that customer requirements are fully understood and met, and manage the resolution of any quality-related concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Develop and deliver quality-related training programs to ensure that all employees understand and adhere to quality standards and procedures
- Mentor junior quality assurance team members to help them develop their skills and knowledge
- Ensure that all quality-related documentation, including inspection reports, audit findings, and non-conformance records, is accurate, up-to-date, and properly maintained
- Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement
- Ensure all quality assurance activities are conducted in compliance with HSE regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor& degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) are highly desirable
- 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the Oil & Gas industry or a related heavy industry, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in the Oil & Gas sector
- Proficiency in quality inspection techniques, statistical analysis, and quality management software
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team, manage complex projects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Advanced analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex quality issues
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Ability to effectively communicate quality-related information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
