About the job:
Kent is looking for a motivated Summer Operations Intern to support office operations and project administration activities within the Sarnia office. This position is designed to provide practical workplace experience and professional development opportunities while assisting various functional teams with administrative coordination, document management, reporting, data entry, and general office support activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Project Teams, HSSE, Human Resources, and other business functions to support day-to-day activities while gaining exposure to the engineering and construction industry.
Skills and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Administrative Support
• Assist with general office administration and day-to-day operational activities.
• Support filing, scanning, document organization, and records management.
• Maintain electronic and hard-copy filing systems.
• Assist with meeting coordination, scheduling, and preparation of meeting materials.
• Support preparation of correspondence, reports, and presentations.
Project and Operations Support
• Assist project teams with administrative and coordination activities.
• Support data entry, tracking logs, spreadsheets, and status reports.
• Assist with maintaining project records and documentation.
• Support document distribution and information management activities.
• Help track action items and support completion of routine administrative tasks.
Data Management and Reporting
• Enter and maintain information within company systems and databases.
• Assist with compiling operational metrics and reports.
• Support quality checks of project and office documentation.
• Help organize information for management reporting and presentations.
Team Support and Professional Development
• Collaborate with various departments to support business objectives.
• Participate in team meetings and office initiatives.
• Learn and apply company procedures and best practices.
• Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Perform other administrative duties as required to support office operations.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Knowledge/Qualification/Training/Certification:
• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a post-secondary program in Business Administration, Office Administration, Human Resources, Project Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong interest in gaining practical workplace experience within an engineering and professional services environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and strong customer service orientation.
Communication:
Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

Compensation:
Hourly Range: $17.60/hr - $18.00/hr.
The hourly range reflects the expected compensation for this role and may vary based on skills, experience, and qualification.
