About the job:
Kent is looking for a Senior HVAC Engineer. Working in the Kent office in Calgary, you will be part of a team delivering fast-paced and technically complex designs for new, refurbishment, upgrade, and modification projects across mining, petrochemical, and chemical industries, both onshore and offshore. You will support HVAC system and equipment design, working closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to develop and modify design parameters. You will also engage directly with clients to understand requirements, evaluate feasibility, and support implementation.
Basic Job Requirements
• Support HVAC system and building mechanical design across multidisciplinary projects
• Analyze HVAC systems to identify inefficiencies and develop optimization solutions
• Interface with clients to understand project requirements, specifications, and operating conditions
• Prepare technical inputs for bids including cost and schedule estimates
• Develop engineering deliverables including design documents, models, and construction packages
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and support drafting activities
• Perform site visits for installation verification, commissioning support, and field reviews
• Provide technical support during procurement, including material requisitions and bid evaluations
• Respond to construction RFIs and support project execution activities

Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10+ years of experience in industrial building or HVAC engineering
• Professional Engineering license (or eligibility) in Alberta
• Working knowledge of HVAC and building management systems (e.g., Rockwell, Honeywell, Johnson Controls)
• Experience with NECB compliance and system verification/validation
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD platforms
