About the Job:

A Senior Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for engineering, construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects. The role involves analyzing project specifications, coordinating with technical teams, evaluating risks, and ensuring competitive and profitable project bids.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and tender documents.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
  • Analyze project scope and identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, planning, and project management teams.
  • Obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare tender submissions and bid proposals within deadlines.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing analysis.
  • Evaluate contractual terms and commercial conditions.
  • Maintain estimation databases and historical cost records.
  • Support management with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Participate in client meetings, pre-bid meetings, and technical clarifications.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8–12 years of experience in estimation, tendering, or cost engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project costing.
  • Experience with EPC, oil & gas, Industrial projects.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with contracts, BOQs, and tender procedures.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in quantity surveying and cost control.
  • Knowledge of international standards and codes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Experience with ERP systems and project management tools.
  • Negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline management.

Software Skills:

  • AutoCAD
  • Primavera P6
  • Microsoft Excel
  • SAP ERP
  • Candy Estimation Software

Communication:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Interpersonal skills.
  • Presentation and business communication skill.
  • Identify/report technical concerns and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Should be able to attend project and team meetings.
  • Conduct technical training session for team.
  • Proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices
