About the job:

Kent is looking for a Project Manager to support our clients from our Canada offices.

You will oversee execution of projects up to $200M across EPCM. You will act as the primary contact for clients regarding performance or non-performance of assigned projects and foster strong relationships leading to growth in project portfolios.

You will create and maintain an attitude of leadership towards the project team with respect to overall management activities including; quality assurance, engineering, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, pre-commissioning and safety to achieve a quality project while respecting the established budget and schedule objectives.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Be a champion for Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment.
  • Lead role as proposal manager in coordinating development of proposals, inclusive of evaluating scope, cost, and schedule as part of a project execution strategy and bid that meets/exceeds the Owners objectives.
  • Manage and comply with complex master and professional service agreements and contracts with Owner and Legal Department.
  • Meet key project indicators developed as part of the execution of a project.
  • As owner of the change management process, ensure that changes from initial project objectives and scope of work are properly and timely identified, clarified, documented, and formally communicated to the Client.
  • Be accountable for scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and procurement on projects which you are managing.
  • Develop bi-weekly and monthly management reports for Client and Kent Executive Leadership.
  • Provide guidance on design processes and/or construction methods.
  • Participate in review and improvement of company’s project management best practices.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related technical degree from a four-year college or university required.
  • Minimum 15 years direct work experience in a project management capacity.
  • Prior direct experience in managing EPCM projects up to $200 million.
  • In depth understanding of the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Understanding of the engineering and construction industry by way of experience in past employment with EPC companies or clients.
  • Self-starter with hands-on approach and out-of-the-box thinking in development of project execution strategies that win projects.
  • Experience and proficient in stage gate process.
