Materials & Inventory Management

  • Overall accountability for materials management across the warehouse, pipe yard, and external storage locations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and control access to materials.
  • Maintain accurate materials tracking systems and allocation logs to ensure materials are reserved and issued against approved project activities.
  • Conduct periodic and ad-hoc stock counts; investigate discrepancies, losses, or shortages and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish, maintain, and control agreed min/max stock levels for materials, tools, consumables, and PPE.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are stored, preserved, and protected in line with supplier recommendations and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure items requiring special storage conditions are inspected regularly to prevent degradation or damage.
  • Manage replacement of damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials and equipment.

Procurement, Expediting & Reporting

  • Maintain full visibility of procurement activities, including quantities, vendors, delivery status, and expediting priorities.
  • Produce regular Procurement, Expediting, and Materials Status Reports for project and client reporting.
  • Maintain RFQ, issue, and receipt registers and ensure documentation is complete and auditable.
  • Review and approve material-related documentation (DR/PR, MITs, RTS, MTTs) for issues, receipts, and transfers.
  • Ensure RSB/warehouse stock is utilised prior to raising new procurement requests where applicable.
  • Provide accurate inputs to project PTR and ESR trackers.

Planning & Engineering Interface

  • Work closely with the Planning Team to ensure materials availability aligns with construction schedules and look-ahead plans.
  • Liaise with COMPANY Materials Management, Procurement, and Engineering teams to forecast demand and manage new material items coming onto the inventory.
  • Support Engineering by sourcing materials for specific scopes of work and proposing technically compliant alternatives where original items are unavailable.

Logistics & Freight

  • Overall responsibility for incoming and outgoing freight, ensuring deliveries are verified against manifests and discrepancies, shortages, or damages are recorded and resolved.
  • Ensure materials handling, transport, and storage activities are conducted in compliance with company and client procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of dangerous goods transportation regulations and ensure compliance.

Quality, Certification & Compliance

  • Ensure all material and equipment documentation and certification is controlled, duplicated, filed, and issued to relevant inspection or discipline engineers.
  • Ensure items requiring certification or re-testing are managed in coordination with QA/QC and Asset/Inspection teams.
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits and ensure timely close-out of audit actions.
  • Maintain full traceability of materials from receipt through to installation and handover.

HSE & Site Controls

  • Promote and implement the Client’s HSE policies and procedures within all materials management activities.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of warehouse and pipe yard areas to ensure safe storage, housekeeping, and permit compliance.
  • Ensure warehouse and pipe yard operations are conducted safely and in accordance with site HSE requirements.

Systems, Records & Governance

  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy records in line with project document control procedures.
  • Ensure materials registers, trackers, and reports are up to date, accurate, and auditable.
  • Attend procurement, logistics, and mobilisation review meetings and provide materials management input to project planning.

General

  • Provide leadership and direction to the materials and warehouse team.
  • Support mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by Project Management.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • Educated to Degree Level or technical diploma.
  • A high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of English language skills.
  • Five-Ten years post-qualification experience in materials management system preferably in the oil& gas sector.
  • Working with a successful team
  • Expert knowledge of materials handling and safe storage practices and procedures

Communication:

  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • English & Arabic languages are required for verbal and written communication.
