About the job:
Kent is looking for a Lead Site Planner based in Basra, Iraq
The Lead Site Planner represents the Client at site and is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the overall project schedule to ensure alignment with contractual milestones and project objectives.
This role provides independent schedule assurance, evaluates EPC/EPCM contractor performance, and ensures that construction, commissioning, and handover activities are delivered in accordance with the approved baseline schedule. The position requires strong site presence and proactive coordination with project stakeholders.
Details / responsibilities
- Review, validate, and monitor EPC/EPCM contractor schedules.
- Ensure alignment of detailed construction schedules with overall project milestones.
- Assess contractor planning methodologies, logic sequences, and resource loading.
- Monitor site progress and verify reported progress against actual execution.
- Identify schedule risks, critical path impacts, and potential delays.
- Provide independent analysis of schedule performance and recovery plans.
- Review and challenge contractor mitigation and acceleration proposals.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide planning input to project leadership.
- Evaluate time impact analyses (TIA) and extension of time (EOT) submissions.
- Ensure integration between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules.
- Support reporting to senior management on schedule performance and forecast completion.
- Ensure compliance with contractual planning requirements.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Typically 12+ years of planning and scheduling experience within Oil & Gas projects.
- Strong background in EPCM and/or EPC project environments.
- Proven experience in site-based planning roles.
- Experience working on Client-side projects is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
