About the Job:
Kent is looking for an experienced Lead Designer Instrumentation to be based in Mumbai / Vadodara Office, India
Skills and Responsibilities
- Assist Lead designer to ensure project design deliverable execution/ completion as per schedule and within estimated budget adhering to Quality Systems, International Standards, Best Engineering Practices and Environmental Standards for highest degree of quality and safety in design.
- Leading a team of Designer to carry out project design activities in time.
- Take overall responsibility of identified area/areas of large project involving several areas through area team of designers/drafters in close co-ordination with Lead Engineer
- Direct supervision of Design team members (Sr. Designers, Designers and Cad-operators)
- Assist Lead in design team manpower planning and recruitment.
- Assist in preparing cost/manpower estimates for project and proposals.
- Review / provide guidance for preparation of all discipline design deliverables like wiring/interconnection diagram, loop diagram, location plans, tray routing and sizing, JB grouping philosophy, installation detail, process and pneumatic hook-up, cable schedules, MCT sizing, drum schedule, Bulk MTO and other CAD drawing.
- Model review and Clash check, clash resolution and validation.
- Participate in project design reviews.
- Perform inter-discipline squad checks (esp. piping, model, mechanical equipment and buildings)
- Enter/review instrument database content per P&IDs
- Site surveys
- Assist with as-building deliverables.
- Perform technical audits and quality reviews for design deliverables.
- Site pre-commissioning activities and design support
- On project training for team members
Assist with as-building deliverables In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
- Diploma in Instrumentation
- 15 to 18 years of detail engineering experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, & Petrochemical industry
- International Codes & Standards and Best Engineering Practices that apply to Automation Design
- Awareness of Quality Management System and Procedures
- Awareness of Project Management and Control Process & Procedure
- Automation design deliverables, work flow and interdisciplinary co-ordination
- Understanding of P&IDs and Instrument Index
- Awareness of change management practice
- Inter-discipline co-ordination
Communication:
- Excellent oral and written communication and skills
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
