About the job:
Kent is looking for a Senior Civil Structural Designer (Lead Designer) to support the Discipline Lead Engineer for LNG projects and other Oil & Gas industry projects.
You will serve as the Lead Designer, with primary responsibility for coordinating all civil/structural design activities at the project level.
You will ensure that all engineering design deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with client requirements, company procedures, and applicable industry codes and standards. You will offer strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and contractors.

Responsibilities: - Assist the Civil/Structural Discipline Lead Engineer in planning and design layout.
- Provide civil, foundation, and structural design of medium to large size engineering projects.
- Define and review scope of work, prepare engineering estimate at both proposal and design level and schedule for civil/structural design portion of work in a project.
- Serve as the Civil/Structural Design Lead for LNG and related energy infrastructure projects.
- Serve as Civil/Structural Checker if required.
- Serve as Civil/Structural 2D/3D Designer if required.
- Lead a team of Designers; provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Attend project meetings
- Conduct field investigations and plant site visits when needed, assist Lead Engineer to produce investigation report if necessary.
- Interface with other disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, piping) to ensure integrated project execution, model reviews and drawings.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all civil/structural design activities across project phases (FEED, detailed design, construction support).
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering drawings.
- Review and approve civil/structural drawings for compliance with project requirements and applicable codes/standards (e.g., OSHA, PIP etc.).
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and construction teams to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation; identify and mitigate risks.
- Support procurement activities including bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Provide construction support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and site visits as needed.
- Ensure adherence to company QA/QC procedures and safety standards.
- Keep up to date on new design processes, 2D and 3D modeling, drafting techniques, and industry standards.
- Investigate and resolve unusual design and field engineering problems by devising new approaches or applying existing criteria in novel ways.
- Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
- Resolve design issues and problems.
- Develop and recommend improvements in design standards to lower cost and improve work quality and facilitate maintenance.
- Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

| Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: | |
Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: - Associates degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in civil/structural design, with significant exposure to LNG, oil & gas, or large industrial EPC projects.
- Proven experience and track record as a Civil/Structural Lead Designer on major projects.
- Strong knowledge of design for steel and concrete structures, foundations, civil and industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA & PIP.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC, etc.).
- In depth experience and knowledge of design software/tools e.g. AutoCad, Advance Steel, Navisworks, Laser Scans.
- Advanced design and construction knowledge required.
- Advanced knowledge of civil/structural layout and design complying with industry standards.
