Kent, together with Valmec, was contracted to deliver the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) stage of the Kwinana Energy Transformation Hub (KETH) in Western Australia for Luth Eolas (LE), a subsidiary of the Future Energy Exports CRC (FEnEx).
KETH is an industrial-scale facility designed to research, test and demonstrate decarbonisation technology solutions for the energy industry. It is a first-of-a-kind facility providing an open-access, multi-user environment for demonstrating and testing energy transition technologies at industrially relevant scale, as well as certification of equipment and training for hydrogen and LNG facility operators.
Kent was selected to prepare a FEED to support FID, with a focus on technology identification, selection and integration into a FEED design with a Class 3 Cost Estimate.
The FEED stage was completed in 2023. Following its completion, the project was redefined and is currently under further development.
