About the job:

Kent is looking for a Construction Coordinatorto be based in Channelview, TX and support our client’s projects.

You will provide support for assigned projects executed by the Capital Projects organization. The position reports to the Capital Projects Construction Manager.

Duties include coordination of construction at the site with other work groups such operations and maintenance, providing direction to multiple contractors as needed to execute the work and to make certain that project safety, quality and schedule expectations are met. This position may interface with project management, estimating, scheduling, project engineering, quality and cost control personnel.

This is a night shift opportunity.

Basic Job Requirements
  • Coordinates all field execution for projects with emphasis mechanical scope using resident and non-resident contractors.
  • Assigned to projects that have small piping, mechanical, civil and structural scope.
  • Knowledgeable of environmental, health and safety compliance requirements in an operating process plant.
  • Acts as a point of contact between construction contractor and plant project manager.
  • Works with our client’s operations and maintenance resources to coordinate activities in the field.
  • Develops and builds relationships with operations and maintenance.
  • Monitors project's daily progress and productivity and provides PM and Project Controls updates.
  • Coordinates and participates in Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) walkdowns. Leads turnover walkdowns between contractors, Operations and/or TA.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

These job requirements are the minimum basics of this job role. The Client will provide you further details of your job requirements upon mobilizing. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

  • High School diploma plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a process plant environment with at least five (5) of those years working in construction management.
  • Ability to read and interpreting multidiscipline IFC drawings (AE&I, piping, civil and structural).
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and effectively manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Knowledgeable of construction methods and experience with mechanical construction planning, execution and scheduling.
  • Willingness to work nighttime outage schedules (7x12s and up to 13 consecutive days on and 1 day off on the 14th day).
