Kent is looking for a Electrical Certified MV/HV Jointer. You will be required to support all phases of the projects to suit the needs and requirements of Kent as well as our Client.
Responsibilities:
The Electrical Certified MV/HV Jointer is responsible for the installation, termination and testing of MV/HV electrical cables and associated equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Carry out MV/HV cable jointing & terminations typically up to 132kV, including types such as AWA/SWA, XLPE, and MDPE cables.
- Perform industrial electrical installations related to medium & high voltage systems.
- Execute heat shrink, cold shrink, and separable connector type terminations for MV & HV cables.
- Test and troubleshoot MV/HV cables using equipment such as Megger, VLF, Hi-pot, and other specialized tools.
- Follow strict safety procedures, including lockout-tagout (LOTO) and compliance with electrical codes and site protocols.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, single line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
- Collaborate with site teams to resolve quality issues and ensure project completion as per specifications.
- Support troubleshooting of faults in wiring, circuits, or components during construction and system energization.
- Prepare field documentation including cable checklists, installation logs, and pre-commissioning test reports.
- Maintain proper storage, identification, and handling of electrical tools, test equipment, and materials on site.
- Identify and report technical issues, material discrepancies, or site obstructions to the Electrical Supervisor or Engineer.
- Work collaboratively with other trades to coordinate installation in shared areas or work fronts.
- Provide support in the execution of Electrical construction activities within the bounds of Discipline competency.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by ensuring personal safety and as far as is reasonably practical that of others by following Corporate Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Management Systems
- Demonstrate and promote the safety principles
- Lead safety principles within the business portraying excellent safety leadership qualities

These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
- Electrical Engineering degree and fully completed apprenticeship or equivalent.
- More than 5 years of experience HV/MV cable testing and other Electrical Commissioning related activities
Skills Requirement:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line, schematic and wiring diagrams.
- CEC, CSA installation standards etc.
- Experience on high voltage distribution equipment.
- Ability to use a variety of high voltage electrical test equipment.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Competency in English a benefit when not a first language (IELTS score of 6.5 / TOEFL score 79-93).
- Strong work ethic with a pragmatic approach.
- Good communicator with management and staff.
- Well-developed interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically, balancing these as workload changes.
