About the Job:

We are pleased to be working with our client to safely deliver maintenance and support various Telecommunications Systems across multiple oil & gas facilities.

We currently have a unique opportunity for a Systems Administrator to provide IT Infrastructure support for number of Telecoms systems installed throughout client’s oil & gas producing assets. You will be an integral part of our respected and experienced Maintenance & Support team.

We are able to offer you in this role ongoing support, training and career development opportunities, working day to day with colleagues who are the best in industry.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience supporting diverse enterprise IT infrastructure. Oil & Gas experience will be highly regarded. The position is Perth CBD office based.

This is an initial contract position for 5-6 months with a good possibility of further extension.

Responsibilities

  • Application of technical expertise to maintain, resolve issues, incidents, and problems involving various components of Server and Desktop infrastructure.
  • Maintaining the currency of IT Infrastructure (Firmware and Operating System upgrades).
  • Assessment of Telecoms systems against various IRM compliance standards/controls and Remediation.
  • Server and Desktop security management in accordance with client cybersecurity policies.
  • Application support for telecoms systems in conjunction with the systems vendor.
  • Assist in performing application software updates.

Experience in several of the following systems is desirable:

  • Safety Systems (PAGA, Access control, E-mustering, CCTV).
  • Radio Systems (Tetra, VHF, Microwave).
  • Oceanographic System
  • Vessel tracking system

Education and Skills

  • Wintel/Linux Infrastructure Administration
  • HP / Dell Server Hardware
  • Virtual infrastructure Administration (VMWare)
  • Knowledge of Backup and Storage Administration
  • Infrastructure/Systems Compliance activities
  • Change Management
