About the Job

Kent has an Internship opportunity for the Summer 2022 term in our Calgary office. Kent has adopted a hybrid working arrangement which allows for part remote and part in-person work.

As part of the Completions, Commissioning and Start Up segment of the business, the candidate will participate in supporting a variety of functional and project-based job duties.


As an Intern, the candidate will be involved in a variety of exciting work assignments, which could include:

  • Rotations throughout the different functional departments including, Finance, Project Controls, Human Resources, Business Development and Health & Safety. Rotations may be a blend of job shadowing as well as hands-on projects specific to the departments.
  • Being embedded and working alongside project-based and client facing teams on a variety of projects and managing a variety of duties and responsibilities.
  • An end of assignment presentation of learnings and experiences throughout the summer to the various stakeholders over the course of the internship.
  • Participate in weekly check-ins with internship manager to provide updates on project progress and additional support needed. It is the expectation that the intern would provide feedback to the business regarding what could be a process improvement.
  • Actively participate in weekly Safety meetings.
  • Special projects as assigned. Opportunities to work with colleagues in other countries and time zones.

This position is designed to provide students with real work experience, offering an opportunity to learn how to deliver highly professional services tailored to meet the technical competency expectations of Kent and its clients.


The candidate will be working towards an undergraduate degree related to engineering or business administration OR a recent university graduate in the aforementioned areas. Candidate will have preferably completed a minimum of 2 years in good standing. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and thorough self-checking mentality.
  • A co-operative and helpful attitude toward both colleagues and clients.
  • A strong drive and willingness to learn from colleagues and clients.
  • A self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision while taking direction from other colleagues.
  • Adaptable to changing working hour requirements as needed to accommodate project work and needs in other time zones.
