About the job:

Joining our Engineering & Consulting business, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and exciting projects. As part of our highly experienced Pipeline Engineering team, you will provide value-adding, specialist engineering support to our clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • You contribute to projects across all three of the Engineering and Consultancy Services markets (Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, and Low Carbon), with responsibilities including:Providing corrosion and materials expertise at all project and lifecycle stages, from Concept through FEED, Detailed Design, Construction, Operation, and Decommissioning.
  • Design and review of cathodic protection systems for jackets, sub-sea and onshore pipelines, onshore oil and gas buried metallic structures and concrete cathodic protection.
  • Coating and painting of offshore and onshore structures
  • Writing of material, cathodic protection specifications and cathodic protection design reports
  • Providing input for costing, procurement, and preparation of cathodic protection job detail for vendor
  • Representing company in client meetings
  • Liaising with vendors on behalf of clients.
  • Contributing towards bids and proposals.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

  • Engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in metallurgical and materials, mechanical, or similar engineering discipline.
  • NACE CP Level 2/3 or equivalent.
  • Chartered status (or working towards) is considered advantageous.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of materials selection and corrosion mechanisms affecting offshore and onshore oil and gas pipelines, facilities, and structures.
  • Proven success in delivering studies and preparing clear, concise reports against time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, and mature approach to work.
  • The following competencies would also be advantageous:
    • Experience in materials and corrosion support to operating assets including support to late-life integrity / life extension projects.
    • Knowledge of CO2 corrosion, H2 degradation mechanisms and ammonia corrosion
    • Awareness of welding and associated corrosion/materials issues is considered advantageous
