About the Job: The Senior Civil / Structural Engineer is responsible for contributing to all aspects of Civil and Structural engineering design to meet the technical competency expectations of Kent and its clients.
The role will be responsible for discipline input to estimates and proposals, and subsequent production of design deliverables within agreed budget and schedule constraints and may include the following:
Being the technical lead for onshore civil/structural projects, working with multi-discipline teams to deliver energy projects in the region.
Contribution to the business development activity including client meetings, writing job bids and tenders as well as input into marketing efforts.
Liaise with the other members of the engineering team and other disciplines to ensure all design requirements are addressed.
Liaise with the Global Engineering Centre in India and worldwide group of Subject Matter Experts for delivery of onshore civil/structural projects
Liaise with clients engineering, construction and operations personnel to ensure all project requirements have been addressed.
Address fabrication and site queries
Review any design work carried out by third parties particularly to ensure compliance to codes and standards
Contribution to the professional development program of the structural/civil team.
Develop and maintain awareness of changes in the relevant technology and design tools.
As a degree qualified engineer you will have demonstrated experience in the resources, energy or oil and gas industry, with most of it in a multidiscipline design environment. You have significant experience (at least 8yrs) in civil and structural engineering within the resources, energy or oil and gas industry with experience in identification and screening of development concepts, FEED and detail design.
Your previous experience will boast in technical leading civil and structural engineering within the resources, energy or oil and gas industry with the ability to supervise junior team members or international design center staff for delivery of projects and QA requirements.
You will have an understanding of civil engineering requirements and design including; but not limited to; buildings and shelters, civil infrastructure, access roads, drainage systems, evaporation ponds, tank bunds, culverts, concrete footing, and reinforced concrete. You have an understanding of structural behavior and applied mechanics. Structural steel design of space framed structures, pipe supports and structural connections with sound knowledge of onshore structural engineering for structures in Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
Your knowledge will include project execution and regulatory issues, applicable design standards in particular to those applicable to resources, energy or oil & gas projects and familiarity with relevant Australian and International standards.
You will have a demonstrated systematic and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail and with initiative and lateral thinking skills in developing solutions and in the methodologies employed and able to work with little supervision. You will want to work as a team and have extremely effective communication.
