Kent is hiring a Regional Finance Controller to direct and manage the full financial management function of the company and all operations within the Americas Region with particular regard to policies, procedures and activities in the area of finance, administration, and payroll.
Accounting and Reporting:
Ensure that high quality, accurate and timeous reports are submitted to Corporate Finance by Finance department
Ensure all numbers are reviewed in the region
Full SOP compliance
Budgeting, Monitoring and Forecasting:
Develop annual budgets as prescribed by Corporate, ensuring that targets are realistic and attainable.
Reconcile accounts and project level reports on a monthly basis.
Monitor Actuals vs. budgets, identifying any variances, and forecasting outcomes to year-end.
Initiate any preventative or corrective action needed to ensure budgets are achieved or that any negative outcomes are minimized.
Attend Cost Meetings.
Monitor any exposure in respect of contractual claims and any litigation.
Monitor any credit risks and take action together with the Business Unit Manager to bring accounts into line.
Responsible for any internal audits deemed necessary.
Ensure adequate internal controls are in place.
Management of Finance/Payroll:
Build an effective and high performing team.
Ensure that staff are trained and developed.
Project cost management:
Review all project bids from a finance SOP responsibility.
Chair monthly cost meetings and review project positions.
Interact and guide project managers with all financial aspects relating to their projects.
Asses the financial requirements for new territories and countries.
Ensure company records are accurate and are kept up to date.
Ensure compliance with Companies Act and other legislation applicable.
Ensure company structures are tax effective.
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax legislation.
Keep up to date with developments in the fields of accounting, taxation, company law, and financial management.
Appoint and develop a successor.
Ensure adequate banking, bonding and insurance facilities are available for current and projected workloads.
Maintain good relationships with bankers, bonding providers, insurance providers.
Prepare short, medium and long term cash flows and manage cash to best effect.
Ensure compliance with group cash management directives.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required; MBA/CPA preferred
10+ years relevant work experience as a senior accountant/finance manager or equivalent
Excellent verbal, written communication skills and listening skills required
