About the job
Our Operations Group Leads are fundamental to the success of our Engineering & Consulting business. You will be motivated and enthused to deliver office performance, business growth, and to develop and stretch our staff. You will be a natural and visible leader and will build accountability, ownership and trust - whilst living the Kent values and behaviours.
• Day-to-day responsibility for a team of 100 multi-discipline consultancy and design engineers. You will be responsible for leading the group to meet targets related to weekly fee-earning, project performance, safety, and staff and contractor headcount growth.
• Lead by example on safety, ethics and inclusion. Develop a strong safety awareness and reporting culture.
• You will have a number of multi-discipline team leads reporting directly to you and direct responsibility for development (or oversight of development if more senior) of staff in a manner that balances the right amount of stretch and challenge for the individual in line with opportunities.
• Lead on inclusive communications with the whole Group and ensure team level communications are cascaded and actioned.
• Work collaboratively with Market Leads and Technical Leaders to ensure that resource is available for bids and projects – supporting Team Leads in effective resource planning and recruitment.
• Drive a culture of pro-activeness in generating tactical client opportunities.
This role is listed as part-time as all working patterns will be considered. Typically the operations group lead is not a full time role – it sits alongside a project management, business development or technical engineering delivery role as part of one of our teams or energy projects. We are on the lookout for project managers and engineers of all disciplines and we would be interested in discussing shaping this role to suit your strengths and expertise."
What you can bring
It is likely that you will be a chartered (or equivalent) engineer or project manager, with experience in motivating and leading multi-discipline teams in the energy sector. You enjoy creating a culture where your team can thrive, and supporting brilliant people to do their jobs well. You are naturally collaborative, demonstrate leadership, and hold yourself to high standards of accountability in delivering sustainable business performance results.
