About the job: The Candidate shall have experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Chemicals, Carbon Capture and Mining /SAGD projects along with effective communication skills. The Candidate shall have versed experience in different types of packages and rotating equipment in general. Experience in Compressors, Pumps (Cogecn, Boilers, GRSG, GTG, fire heaters, API and Non-API), Fan and steam Turbine Packages which includes multi discipline scope will be added value. Experience in Carbon Capture & High Pressure Compression Facilities are a preference. The Candidate will have direct responsibility of mechanical deliverables, supporting the project mechanical lead, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, client and supplier. The candidate shall be an integral part of a task force team in an ongoing sustainable project and can be assigned to New prospective projects.
Your responsibilities:
The Candidate shall be fully responsible for deliverables assigned to her/him.
Liaise with and coordinate with the other engineering disciplines and procurement team.
Participate in all phases of project, including conceptual, FEED, detail design.
Provide construction and Commissioning support as required.
Perform job responsibilities under the direction of the Project Mechanical Lead and project engineer(s).
Work efficiently and maintain the required technical quality of work produced within the project schedule and budgeted man-hours.
Prepare specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, review and approve vendor documents and drawings.
Ensure adherence to client and/or company specifications, work instructions, quality processes, governing codes and standards, and good engineering practice.
Responsible for reporting the progress status of the equipment being handled to the Project mechanical lead and project engineer(s).
Interface with Client's representatives and maintain a good relationship throughout the project
Be conversant and knowledgeable with the requirement of current legislation and standards e.g., API, CSA, API, NFPA, ASME Codes and industry Standards, Federal, and Provincial Regulations.
Must be methodical and systematic in her/his approach
The Candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a positive relationship with all project personnel, engineering team, and other stakeholders.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Recognized Bachelor’s , Master’s and PHD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario and or Alberta
Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in Oil & Gas and Mining Industries
Field experience will be considered an asset
Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Report writing, Communication, and Presentation skills.
Skills Requirement:
Interface engineering/ Coordination for multidisciplinary issues belongs to Mechanical scope.
General understanding of civil, electrical, I&C and piping design requirement with respect to mechanical equipment interface
Willing to travel to site and vendor shop as per project needs and requirement
Demonstrated communication and organizational skill
Strong team player & ability to handle multi-tasks.
Ability to meet assignment schedule & deliver quality products.
Self-motivated & goal-oriented
Ability to work and perform tasks independently with minimum supervision and guidance.
