About the job:

Kent is looking for a Materials Manager to be based in Fawley, Hampshire.

Your responsibilities:
•Develop a Materials Management Plan for the Project.
•Work with Engineering, Procurement and Construction Teams to ensure all required materials have been identified and ordered by either ExxonMobil, True Alliance or Sub-Contractors.
•Ensure suitable materials management arrangements are in place at off site locations such as China Fabrication Yard.
•Expedite bulk material Purchase Orders placed by EM or the True Alliance.
•Ensure a suitable Materials Management System is in place for taking receipt, storage and issue of materials.
•Highlight any shortages of materials that may impact schedule.
•Manage the Site Warehouse Team including Preservation.
•Ensure preservation of equipment is undertaken in accordance with Manufacturers requirements.
•Manage Overages / Shortages / Damages of materials.

HSE AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements.
•Take reasonable care one’s of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
•Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:
HTEC, Diploma or similar but not essential.

Skills Requirement:
•Experience in Materials/Logistics in the oil and gas/petro chemical industry.
•Experience with safe working practices associated with material handling storage and transportation.
•Must have extensive knowledge of PC based Materials Management systems including stock reporting. This must include knowledge of storage techniques and preservation requirements.
•Experience with international EPC contractors and vendors, in particular those involved in the construction of refining facilities.
•Excellent understanding of an International Standards i.e. (ANSI, API/ RP and BS/EN) specifically those related to area of discipline.
•IT Competence with MS programs.
•Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
•Work requires a degree of analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking, with a significant degree of evaluative judgment.
•Works in accordance with Company policies, directives and objectives set by the Construction Manager and international engineering standards
