About the job:

Kent Kazakhstan Technical Services (KKTS) are currently recruiting EX Inspector.

To validate, inspect (and be the ATEX technical focal point) for all Ex/ATEX Equipment installed in Hazardous Zoned Areas across the 3GI Project site. Containing Sub Stations, Remote Instrument Rooms, Electrical Outstations, Air Systems, Heat Tracing, Cathodic Protection, Small Power & Lighting, HVAC, and Instrumentation.

Your responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with European Equipment Directive 2014/34/EU (Atex 95) and Workplace Directive 1999/92/EC (Atex137)
  • To be technically aware of Kazakhstan PUE ROK Electrical Installation Code. 2015. Section 5 Paragraphs 1 & 2 Classification of Explosion Hazard Areas and Choice of Electrical Equipment for Explosion Hazard Zone
  • Be familiar with IEC 60079 International Standard for Gases
  • Be familiar with Area Classification and Zone Demarcation Drawings and Symbols
  • Be aware of International, ROK and site-specific specifications in relation to Hazardous Area Equipment Selection, Equipment Installation and Site-Specific Hazardous Area Classification Drawings
  • To hold and maintain a valid Compex 01,02,03,04 Certificate or International Equivalent
  • Preform all works as directed by supervisor in safe and efficient manner
  • Participate in site inspections of all Electrical and Instrumentation equipment as included in provided work packs and as instructed by site supervisor
  • Complete site specified quality documentation as required for each inspection
  • Compile punch items for inclusion in Project commissioning data base as per discovery during detailed equipment inspection
  • Take action to resolve remedial items discovered during detailed inspection
  • Manage all test equipment required for each individual detailed inspection
  • All works to be performed while observing site safety requirements with regards to Zero Energy, Isolation of Equipment, proximity of other workers and with respect to client equipment
  • To attend all Site Mandatory Safety Training courses
  • Be fully aware of site requirements before commencement of any task
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks
  • Participate in daily preparation of Job Safety Analysis
  • Co-operate with site safety personnel
  • Be familiar with site alarms and what action you need to take
  • Manage your company issued Personal Protective equipment
  • Report to immediate supervisor any dangerous or unsafe incidence or acts which would affect your team or other work teams USE YOUR STOP WORK AUTHORITY
  • Adhere to site schedule as regards to start work lunch time and stop work
  • Complete all tasks as instructed in safe manner

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:

  • Electrical or Instrumentation Degree or Diploma
  • Trade Certificate
  • Compex Ex 01,02,03,04 or International equivalents


  • English proficiency required. Effective communication and reporting skills.
