Site Engineering Manager

The Site Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of Engineers and Designers, both internally and externally with Contractors, throughout the life cycle of the project from design stages to completion, including managing the workshare with engineering within Kent and with the Client.
Assist and contribute to the project to meet its safety targets and advise on safety improvements.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) responsibilities.
Assist the project and add value.
Consult Quality Assurance with any quality issues, ensuring compliance with ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures.
Ensure that Site Contractors complete design activities, applicable to their scopes, to the highest quality standards.
Check their team’s work for technical accuracy.
Establish and manage discipline engineering function required for a project based on scope, including hiring and training qualified engineering staff, setting project budgets and timelines for completion, and helping their staff run tests or troubleshoot issues.
Responsible for planning and coordinating projects in conjunction with Contractors, supervising teams, and researching new products in the field of engineering.
Ensure that Site Contractors’ Engineering resources are effectively and efficiently employed.
Ensure that Contractors carry out engineering design in a safe manner in accordance with international standards meeting Projects’ requirements.
Ensure the Site Contractor selects and manages appropriate engineering software for Engineering and ensure its effective and efficient utilisation to meet project requirements.
Ensure the Site Contractor establishes and monitors key performance indicators for the engineering project team.
Ensure Client technical engineering requirements are identified and understood and ensure that the project meets its contractual obligations from an engineering perspective in all instances.
Review designs provided by Kent Engineering and Site Contractors for projects to ensure the designs meet the client’s performance criteria.
Ensure Engineering and Site Contractor identify and manage engineering risks including contractual performance criteria.
Support projects and construction ensuring that engineering deliverables are provided in a timely manner.
Hold Constructability review sessions and ensure that Contractors’ engineering considers construction methods efficiently.
Ensure that Site Contractors engineering activities, where applicable, are outsourced to approved subcontractors.
Ensure that Site Contractors establish standard engineering details.
Contribute to the professional development of Iraqi employees with particular emphasis on direct reports.
Support the Project team and provide technical and commercial assistance when required.
Support Procurement and Supply Chain group processes and activities, including strategic procurement initiatives.
Use own industry knowledge to oversee a variety of activities and coordinate activities on a construction site or activities related to maintenance, testing, quality assurance, operations, and production at a manufacturing site.
Ensure that Site Contractors develop detailed plans for new construction designs and products.
Checking their team’s work for technical accuracy as a subject matter expert.
Ensuring the validity of methods used by staff in accordance with International and Client standards.
Coordinating work with other project managers and staff.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline), a Master’s Degree is an advantage.
15-20 years

Capable of using the appropriate software
