About the job:

Kent is looking for a Senior Proposals Manager - Kuala Lumpur (MUST be a current resident).


The Senior Proposals Manager experienced working in the energy sector, is responsible for overseeing the creation and management of comprehensive proposals for all types of services offered by Kent, with a focus on EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management) / PMC (Project Management Consultancy). This role requires a strategic, detailed, and client-focused approach to bid management, ensuring that these services proposals are competitive, technically sound, and commercially attractive. The Proposals Manager will lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with various departments to deliver high-quality and winning proposals.

Responsibilities:


  • Proposal Management:Lead the end-to-end proposal process for proposals allocated by the Proposal Director from receipt of RFP/RFQ to final submission.
  • Develop proposal strategies and value propositions that align with client requirements and company capabilities.
  • Ensure proposals meet client specifications, internal standards, and industry regulations.
  • Ensure that all, pre-screening, approvals to bid, approvals to submit bids & approvals to sign contract are strictly adhered to for all proposals.
  • Team Leadership:Embrace and live the safety leadership covenants developed within the Kent Group. Demonstrate these behavior’s and advocate the vision.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of proposal coordinators, engineers, and subject matter experts.
  • Coordinate resources effectively to handle multiple proposals and meet tight deadlines.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, management, finance, legal, and project management teams to gather and integrate required information.
  • Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on proposal objectives and deliverables.
  • Engage with senior management for strategic guidance and proposal approvals.
  • Quality Assurance:Review and edit proposal documents to ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and professional presentation.
  • Identify and implement best practices in proposal writing, formatting, and content management.
  • Maintain a repository of proposal templates, past submissions, and other reference materials.
  • Client Engagement:Participate in client meetings, site visits, presentations, and negotiations as required.
  • Address client queries, clarifications, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Market and Competitor Analysis:Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance proposal competitiveness.
  • Reporting and Documentation:Track and analyze proposal metrics, win/loss ratios, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Document lessons learned from each proposal process and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.


Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

  • Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Communication:Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
  • Behavior/ Core Competencies:Minimum of 10 years of experience in proposal management within the EPCM and PMC sectors of the energy industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and winning significant proposals across all sectors with emphasis on EPCM / PMC.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and proposal management software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
