About the job: The successful candidate will prepare design drawings and assist with the modification / revamps of existing petrochemical, refining and light industrial facilities.
The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be as follows:
Organizing work to meet priorities.
Review drawings and designs to control quality and accuracy.
Producing highly advanced and complex designs.
Discussing special problems with project team and recommending changes as required.
Keeping up to date on new design processes and drafting techniques.
Developing and recommending improvements in design standards to lower costs, improve work quality and facilitate maintenance.
Carry out site surveys to gather detail information for design needs.
Manage schedules, budgets and scope changes throughout project duration.
Prepare and drive 3D model reviews and interface with client representatives.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Technical college graduation (ie Mechanical Engineering Technician/ Technologist) or equivalent experience.
Minimum 15 years piping design and layout experience, preferably in the petrochemical industry.
Advanced ability with 2D AutoCAD and multiple data driven 3D computer applications for piping design e.g. AutoPLANT, CADWorx, Plant 3D, PDMS/E3D or Smart 3D and Navisworks.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in technology.
Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes.
Direct experience working with client and industry specifications and standards.
Working knowledge of manufacturing, process, maintenance, and construction methods.
Relative site experience preferred.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal & written
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate workflow with High Value Centers (HVEC).
