About the Job:
As the Senior Payroll Officer you will be supporting the wider payroll team on a range of projects including providing payroll services for our FIFO blue collar workforce.

The role will be responsible for the following:
  • Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, including salary disbursement, overpayment recovery, leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes and comply with relevant legislation.
  • Reconciliation of client timesheets to payroll system on a weekly basis
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly client claims
  • Prepare payroll and human resource information for data input and assist with checking, quality control and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity.
  • Assist the organisation to meet its taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory obligations through processing and preparation of returns, related reports, forms and other documentation as requested.
  • Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve difficult enquiries and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective action where required to ensure employee payments are processed accurately and database integrity is maintained.
  • Provide and promote service excellence and foster effective teamwork and business relationships.
  • Payment errors less than 1% of total payroll disbursement

As the Senior Payroll Officer, you will have a minimum of 5 years of construction / FIFO payroll experience in the resources sector working within a payroll team environment with a Payroll Administrator Certificate. You will have a clear understanding of payroll practices, including but not limited to ATO, Superannuation and industrial legislation. You will have report writing knowledge using Power BI and experience in the use of a computerised payroll systems (Aurion would be desirable).

You will have sound numeracy skills with accuracy output aiming for payment errors less than 1% of total payroll disbursement. You will have demonstrated systematic and methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail and with initiative and lateral thinking skills in developing solutions and in the methodologies employed and able to work with little supervision. You will want to work as a team and have extremely effective communication.
