About the job:
As Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer you will be involved in the specification of instrumentation, control systems and communications for new offshore fixed platform and floating facility projects and work on designing upgrades and solving challenging problems for our client’s existing facilities.
This position is based in our West Houston office with the possibility of up to 10% international travel.
Your responsibilities:
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
Focus on the technical development of discipline specific deliverables including:
Distributed Control System (DCS) modifications and additions;
New or upgraded HMI;
PLC control system hardware and software modifications;
Safety Logic Diagrams;
SAFE Charts
Perform investigative studies and engineering scopes.
Support the Procurement Activities for the technical bid evaluation and selection of equipment items, and ongoing vendor liaison including addressing vendor clarifications.
Work directly with client operating company personnel.
Uphold professional ethics and standards of conduct.
Direct research and solve unprecedented technical problems of considerable scope and complexity, the solution of which may have a far-reaching impact on extensive technical activities of the firm.
Qualification/ Certification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Control System Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum of 5 years related experience, with at least 2 years of Oil & Gas Offshore experience since obtaining Bachelor's degree.
Offshore Oil & Gas major project experience is preferred.
P.E. license (preferable in the State of Texas) is preferred or intention of gaining professional certification/registration.
Skills Requirement:
Strong persuasive ability, proven through such technical presentations, technical papers and/or participation in technical committees that will demonstrate an advanced state-of-the-art technical expertise.
Communication:
Technical writing and strong communications skills are required.
