- Manage Coordination/Communication with other disciplines, Contractors and Client.
- Review Client’s deliverables, as required, and ensure all engineering and design work performed meets quality, cost and schedule requirements.
- Ensure all design work conforms to the codes and standards used by the Client or to agreed industry standards.
- Carry out and participate in site surveys, review site reports and ensure it is as per actual site conditions.
- Duties include, as applicable to own field, photographs and field notes, physical measurements using calibrated equipment, review of changes, application of specifications…etc.
- If required, perform designing/engineering work/deliverables as part of the team.
- Ability to interpret Client specifications.
- Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.
- Consult Quality Assurance with any quality issues, ensuring compliance with ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures.
- Identifying issues and problems, developing appropriate solutions, advising Client, and asking for assistance when required.
- Participate in multi-discipline Engineering Design Reviews and provides all necessary Piping & Layout engineering input and support to close out of actions.
- Where required, assist, and support junior personnel within the team.
- Provide support during fabrication, site construction, and commissioning activities.
- Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal / contract by raising technical queries with projects / client.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in Piping/Mechanical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Piping and Layout/Mechanical deliverables such as Datasheets, Specifications, Requisitions, Installation and tie-ins, P&IDs, equipment Location Layouts…etc.
- Understanding of piping Selection, such as Valves…etc.
- Good knowledge of Vendors Technical Bid Evaluations processes.
- Being able to work with multiple and concurrently small and medium projects.
- Working knowledge of software’s like Smart Plant, AVEVA and AutoCAD.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Verification and documentation that all work, as applicable to own field, is being constructed in accordance with the construction contract.
- As the project nears completion, determine Contractor achievement of both Substantial Completion and Final Completion documentation/dossier.
