• Review P&ID, Cause & Effect, HAZOP study report, Unit start-up/shut-down procedure, operating manuals & SOPs and issue technical comments if required.
• Develop a plan for feed/ product management.
• Plan, realize and evaluate test-runs of the units after commissioning, guiding refinery for throughput optimization for efficient runs.
• Developing procedures for smooth commissioning and start-up.
• Establish timeframe for pre-commissioning, commissioning and subsequent start-up activates.
• Reviewing of operating manuals, PFD & P&IDs, process data sheets and drawings, SOPs, start-up checklists as provided by the EPC contractors.
• Preparing training material for operators.
• Making presentations on unit related technicalities and project updates.
• Attending project related activities like Mechanical Completion walkdowns, Pre-commissioning activities, MRT, energizations, dry-out, catalyst loading, etc.
• Leading operation teams in walk downs, equipment inspections, equipment test runs, flushing and leak testing, and other associated pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Generating punch points, follow up and resolving the same.
• Interacting with EPC, Vendors and PMCs on behalf of the refinery on all commissioning aspects.
• Participate in safety and environmental improvement programs (HAZOPS, PIDs, PFDs, safety, management of change, PSSR, etc).
• Review of procedures, flushing plan of system and subsystems, tracking of project progress from Project completion software.
• May be designated according to type of unit or process as Process Specialist e.g Cracking Unit,Crude Unit, SRU/HPU/Unit; Hydro-Treating Unit Tankage & Marine Unit Utilities Unit.
• Any additional duties as directed by Client or Kent Plc management
Qualification/ Certification:
• B.E in Chemical Engineering or Equivalent
Communication:
• Excellent oral and written communication and skills.
Core Competencies:
• A minimum of 12 years’ of experience in Technical Service department and Operations of Refinery / Petrochemicals.
• At least 6 years’ experience in a similar position with a pre-commissioning and commissioning project(s)
• Proven experience in handling activities related to refinery Operations.
• Specific Process Units experience relevant to the project (CDU / KHU / NHTU / ARDS / HOC / SGU/ HYDROGEN/SULPHUR/SWS/ARU/FLARES/UTILITIES/ TANKFARM AND MARINE).
• Strong people management and interpersonal skills.
• Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
• Proven experience for renowned clients in region.
