About the job:

Piping Designer based out of Baytown Office - Function as Designer for multiple projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure piping project deliverables are checked and meet industry, client and company quality standards
  • Work with the Piping Design Lead in planning and design layout
  • Provide technical guidance instruction and direction to others in your area(s) of expertise
  • Conduct field investigations and plant site visits when needed and plan work and meet deadlines without supervisor action
  • Independently perform most assignments
  • Prepare all types of designs, layouts, basic plans, in conformance with applicable codes and design standards
  • Explore and suggest new approaches and concepts in design components
Internal Cross Working Relations (Departmental)
  • Engineering Disciplines
  • Project Management
  • Project Controls
External Working Relations (External to Kent)
  • Client interface as needed per project requirements
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years; experience in refinery, midstream, petrochemical, or other heavy industries
  • Design and construction knowledge of piping systems
  • Advanced knowledge about design/drafting principles and practices
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
  • Working experience with high value engineering center (HVEC)
  • Experience with design and/or construction of plants
Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficient in the following software: AutoCAD and CADWorx Plant
  • Knowledge of SmartPlant 3D
Computer Skills:
  • Experience with MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Pro
Language Ability:
  • Full fluency in English is required
Working Conditions and Physical Strain
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
